Privacy Policy

Introduction
Engineering Toolbox ("the App") is developed and published by Blind Logic ("we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and your choices regarding that data.
The App provides 172+ engineering calculators across 12 disciplines. It requires no user accounts, no login, and no cloud sync. All calculations happen entirely on your device.
Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores the following preferences locally on your device using localStorage. This data never leaves your device and is not transmitted to us or any third party:
- Theme preference — your selected color theme
- Favorited calculators — bookmarked tool name, module, and timestamp
- App icon preference — your chosen app icon
- Promo code flag — a boolean indicating whether a promo code was redeemed
Calculator inputs are never stored or transmitted. All computations run locally and are discarded when you leave the calculator.
Data Collected by Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party SDKs, each of which may collect data as described below:
Google AdMob
Advertising
- Advertising identifier (IDFA)
- Device model and OS version
- Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)
- Coarse location (city-level, derived from IP address)
Purpose: Serving and targeting advertisements.
Tracking: This data is used for tracking and third-party advertising.
Firebase Crashlytics
Crash Reporting
- Crash logs, stack traces, and error messages
- Device model, OS version, and app version
Purpose: Identifying and fixing crashes to improve app stability.
Tracking: This data is not linked to your identity.
RevenueCat
In-App Purchases
- Purchase receipts and transaction history
- Anonymous customer ID (auto-generated)
- Product purchased, date, and amount
Purpose: Fulfilling the "Remove Ads" in-app purchase.
Identity: Linked to your Apple ID (managed by Apple, not by us).
What We Do Not Collect
The App does not collect any of the following:
Data Retention
- Local data: Retained until you clear app data or uninstall the App.
- Crash logs: Approximately 90 days (Firebase default retention).
- Purchase records: Managed by Apple and RevenueCat per their retention policies.
- Ad data: 30–90 days per Google's data retention policy.
Your Rights and Choices
- Delete local data: Clear app storage in iOS Settings, or uninstall the App.
- Opt out of personalized ads: Go to iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking, and disable tracking for Engineering Toolbox.
- Request data deletion from RevenueCat: Contact RevenueCat support directly.
- Manage purchase records: Through your Apple ID account settings.
Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The App does not collect any COPPA-regulated data.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted to this page with a revised effective date. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
